INCI: TOCOPHERYL ACETATE
Tocopheryl acetate is a fat-soluble form of vitamin E.
It can be derived from natural sources such as soybean oil (vegetable oils), or produced in a laboratory from tocopherol and acetic acid.
Also, it is used both for skin protection and care, and as a dietary supplement.
It is considered the most stable and active form of vitamin E and the best overall choice for treating vitamin E deficiency.
Vitamin E:
• Because it has antioxidant properties, it appears to help protect the skin from environmental stressors such as pollution and UV radiation.
• Is often used in skin care products because it improves skin texture, softens the appearance of fine lines, and promotes healthy-looking skin.
• Is used in hair care products such as shampoos and conditioners because it nourishes and strengthens the hair while protecting it from environmental stressors.
• Moisturizes and strengthens the skin’s protective barrier, preventing transdermal water loss.
• Does not clog pores and does not cause flare-ups in oily, acne-prone skin.
• Does not cause side effects such as irritation or sensitivity.
