INCI: Urea<\/strong><\/p>\n

Urea, known as carbamide, is a naturally occurring molecule produced by the metabolism of proteins in our body.<\/p>\n

Urea hydrates, gives elasticity and softness to dry\/rough or stressed skin, from eczema and psoriasis.<\/p>\n

In addition, it has anti-aging properties for the skin, because it helps in the natural process of hydration, and at the same time enhances the absorption of other ingredients by the skin.<\/p>\n

In high concentrations, it can also act as a keratolytic\/exfoliating agent, because it breaks down the keratin on the skin’s surface.<\/p>\n

This has the effect of reducing the accumulation of dead skin, i.e. gentle exfoliation.<\/p>\n

That’s why it’s used to help remove dead tissue in some wounds to speed up their healing.<\/p>\n
